Blake Hunter, CADC
Therapist
I’m a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with nearly 10 years of experience working across the substance use treatment continuum in various roles. My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, integrating evidence-based practices and modalities within my scope to support meaningful and sustainable recovery. I value building strong therapeutic relationships and creating group and individual spaces that feel both clinically sound and genuinely human. I’m passionate about helping people develop insight, self-compassion, and practical skills that support long-term recovery and a more authentic, values-driven life. At my best I’m a magnifying glass to help people look at what’s going on and the options they have to make meaningful changes.
John Edmiston
Therapist
As a CADC and Primary Clinician, I uniquely blend decades of leadership experience with direct clinical work in substance use treatment. After a 22-year career in project management and business operations, I transitioned into the behavioral health field 5 years ago with a deep commitment to helping individuals break cycles of addiction, relapse, and self-destructive patterns. I incorporate experiential learning, neuroscience education, structured processing, and creative interventions to help clients build insight and self-efficacy. I specialize in working with high-risk and relapse-prone populations, integrating evidence-based modalities and trauma informed care. My clinical approach emphasizes accountability, nervous system regulation, identity development, and practical skill-building for sustainable recovery.
Kaela Warick
Case Manager/Discharge Planner
Kaela brings 2.5 years of professional experience in the behavioral health field along with her own lived experience in long-term recovery. Her background allows her to deeply understand the courage it takes to ask for help and the complexity of making those lasting changes.
She approaches her work through a client-centered, harm-reduction lens, recognizing that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Kaela believes in meeting individuals where they are and supporting incremental progress toward improved health, stability, and overall well-being. She develops individualized aftercare plans that connect clients to outpatient care, recovery support networks, housing resources, and community services, ensuring continuity of care beyond discharge.
Kaela is a strong advocate for her clients and believes that access to housing, food, healthcare, and basic human needs should never be barriers to recovery. She works diligently to help individuals navigate systems of care and secure the resources necessary to build stability and independence. By collaborating closely with clinical and medical teams, she creates practical and realistic transition plans that promote safety, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Kaela believes recovery can look different for everyone; whether that means abstinence-based pathways, medication-supported treatment, or other evidence-based approaches, and she is committed to helping clients build a life that feels meaningful and manageable to them.
Taylor Chenoweth
Admissions Coordinator
Taylor brings a strong background in both military service and residential treatment to her role as Admissions Coordinator. A proud Navy veteran, Taylor served for eight years before transitioning into the recovery field, where she found a new passion in supporting individuals through transformative care.
Taylor is deeply committed to client-centered care—prioritizing each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and goals in the recovery journey. She has a passion for helping clients reconnect with themselves, especially when removed from the environments, stressors, and patterns that previously shaped their lives. Being in the Admissions Coordinator role excites her as an opportunity to work with adult clients and being the first contact connection on their journey with Mayrx Recovery. She hopes to continue building meaningful, client-focused connections.
Taylor is currently working toward her associate’s degree in Human Services Technology with a focus in Addiction and Recovery Studies, further deepening her expertise and dedication to the field.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, finger crocheting, and going on backpacking trips.
